Last week before December! Here-We-Go!
What is up, everyone! How are you doing? How are you feeling? This year has gone by fleeting, but thereâs a reason for a happy greeting because this week is Thanksgiving!
I donât know if you know, but research shows that a grateful attitude can result in happiness and optimism. That is because, according to an article in the Harvard Health Publishing: âGratitude is a way for people to appreciate what they have instead of always reaching for something new in the hopes it will make them happierâŠâ
Many times we think, âif I could have this,â or âwhen I achieve that, then I will be happy.â Sorry to burst your bubble, but if youâre unhappy now, youâll be unhappy later because you havenât learned to be satisfied and grateful for what you already have.
A grateful attitude should be exercised all year round. Itâs a decision you have to make every single day. You either choose to highlight all thatâs missing in your life; everything you want and donât have, or you acknowledge what you have and appreciate it. Trust me, whenever you recognize all the reasons you have to be thankful, youâll have a different outlook in life.
If you havenât developed a grateful attitude, I invite you to start today; not because itâs Thanksgiving week, but as a new way of life. Itâs not about neglecting the situations you go through or your feelings, but choosing where youâll focus all of your energy.
I know this year hasnât made it easier, but there are things to be grateful for. Start small. Make it a habit every day to highlight at least 3 things youâre thankful for. If nothing pops into your head, make an honest effort, There are many things we take for granted, like waking up everyday, having food on our table, having a job, an education, and so on. Letâs start appreciating them.
For example, today Iâm grateful because:
You are here reading this blog post.
My family is well and healthy.
I woke up today.
Remember that a grateful attitude can help you live a happier life. đ Keep dancing to the rhythm of life, in gratitude, as you continue finding your beat.
Have a wonderful week! đ
